Amazon is now offering Prime Exclusive Phones with Lockscreen Offers & Ads.  These carrier unlocked budget priced phones are exclusively offered to Prime members, and are priced around $50 off regular price.

The Lockscreen Offers & Ads feature, besides saving some on the initial cost of the device, offer personalized deals and product recommendations that appear on the phone’s lockscreen.  Access to normal lockscreen notifications still functions as normal.

  1. I wonder if these will have decent offers on them. I remember when I bought one of the original Kindle readers, I bought it with the Amazon ads and offers, and they would have great deals and coupons.

    They discounted the Kindles with ads, so not only did you pay less up front, but the discounts ended up paying for the complete cost of the Kindle and then some.

    After a while though, they stopped giving good offers and discounts and it ended up becoming just another way of advertising. If they would go back to giving the really good discounts and coupons, like they used originally did, then these phones might be a really good deal and could eventually pay for themselves just on the discounts you could receive on the lockscreen offers & ads.

    If it turns out to just be ads, without any good exclusive discounts or coupons, this could end up being very annoying.
